My professional interest is in working collaboratively with colleagues, students and community partners in creating a healthy environment on the University of Oregon campus, so the healthy choice is the easy choice.  This is accomplished by looking at our environment and creating policy to impact change.  Tobacco-free 2012 is an example of these efforts.

Personal
I was born in Oregon and do not anticipate living anywhere else on a permanent basis. I love to travel to other countries, cook meals using produce from the Farmer’s Market, share meals with friends, garden, exercise, listen to music, read and play.

  • Dietitian, Health Promotion
  • Phone: 541-346-2794

Bio

Education
University of California, Davis: BS in Clinical Nutrition, 2005
Oregon Health Sciences University: Dietetic Internship, 2006
University of Oregon: MS Human Physiology, 2009 Registered Dietitian since 2006

Employment
University of Oregon; Dietitian since 2009
At the University, I work with students from a variety of life-circumstances to help them make better food and lifestyle choices.  I focus more on food behaviors and perceptions about food than BMI, and I take a mindful and practical approach to my client interactions.  My clinician style has been termed “laid-back” and “non-intimidating” by students.  I have professional interests including reducing food-insecurity among UO students, and increasing opportunities for students to find and enjoy affordable healthy choices on campus and in the community, and the Health at Every Size concept.  I am also dedicated to continuing my journey of multicultural competence.

In my personal time, I take pleasure in cultivating my own fruit and vegetable garden.  I also enjoy hiking, backpacking, road cycling, yoga, reading, and experimental cooking and baking.
