Tobacco Cessation:If you are a tobacco user and interested in quitting there are several resources available for students.
If you are a UO employee looking for tobacco cessation services there are many FREE services provided to you and your eligible dependents 18 or older through PEBB's Free & Clear Program. Check out their website for all the details. http://www.oregon.gov/DAS/PEBB/freeandclear.shtml Requesting a ProgramIf you would like a presentation or program for your classroom, student organization, residence hall or any other UO organization, there are several ways you can contact a Health Promotion staff member. You can call 541-346-0562 and ask to speak to the health education coordinator, or you can email at rleith@uoregon.edu. When you request a program, please give us at least two weeks notice. The Health Educators will be asking the following questions when you call to schedule a program:
Classroom PresentationsClassroom presentations on a wide variety of health topics, including sexual health, HIV, alcohol and other drugs, nutrition, body image, eating disorders, tobacco cessation, sexual assault and more. If you are an instructor at the university and have a conference to go to or have a conflict with one of your scheduled classes, let us come to your class. Educational MaterialsEducational materials on health issues are available through the Health Promotion Department. Written information is an essential tool to support people in taking control of their health and being informed consumers. Patient EducationHealth educators work in partnership with the clinician staff to help students learn about self-care and healthy lifestyles. By making an appointment with one of the health educators, you can talk to them about STIs, anonymous HIV counseling and testing, contraception, alcohol and other drugs, acquaintance rape issues, eating disorders, body image, nutrition, cholesterol and vegetarian eating. Campus-wide Health Promotion ActivitiesCampus-wide special events are planned through out the year on a variety of relevant health issues. National College Health Assessment (NCHA)The National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a survey, sponsored by the American College Health Association, which asks college students about their health and health risk behaviors.
