Flu - Influenza

Flu vaccine - Influenza vaccine is generally available during Fall and Winter terms. The vaccine changes each year and one year's vaccine is not generally effective against the next year's virus. Influenza vaccine clinics are held during fall term and during January for students, faculty, & staff. After January, limited supplies are usually still available and patients who are at risk should still be vaccinated. Students may be vaccinated whenever vaccine is available, even late in the flu season. The 2007-2008 vaccine costs are $15/student and $30/faculty/staff. However, faculty and staff insurance reimbursement is only available during fall term and through January 31st of each year.

HPV - (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccine

The HPV vaccine prevents up to 70% of cancers of the cervix and 90% of genital warts. The vaccine is available at the University Health Center .

• The vaccine is indicated for non-pregnant females ages 9-26.
• It is given in three doses at 0, 2 months, and 6 months
• The price is $160 per dose
• Students may come to the Nurse Specialty Clinic between 9:00 and 11:30am or 1:00 to 4:00pm to be immunized
• No appointment is necessary. If you wish to receive the vaccine but do not meet the indications listed above (female ages 9-26) please schedule an appointment with a practitioner for a referral.
• Students who meet all eligibility requirements for the Vaccine For Children program can receive HPV vaccine at a lower cost from the Lane County Health Department. Click <Here> to read more about this option.
